Platform of Arts and Creativity
Inaugurated in 24 of June in 2012 the platform of arts and creativity was built in an area where previously was the Old Merchant of Guimarães with the objective of promoting the tourism activity, cultural and socio-economic.
This area also offers a magnificent square to the public to have moments of leisure and to relax; the 3 big areas of the program are the International Arts Center of José de Guimarães, the Emerging Ateliers and the Creative Labs.
The first one is the most important because is a structure designed to the contemporary art and the relations that establishes with the art of other times, here are works collected by José de Guimarães over 50 years and this are part of the African Art, Chinese Archaeological Art and Pre-Columbian Art and also works that were realize by the artist himself.
