From 21 to 24 June, the UM Day of Portugal celebrations will have the theme “The Foundations of the Kingdom” this year.
The Municipality of Guimarães, in continuity with the UM Day of Portugal celebrations, will organise the 12th edition of the “Afonsina Fair” in 2024. This event will offer visitors an immersive and unforgettable experience, recreating themed spaces throughout the four days of festivities.
Guimarães invites everyone on a journey through time, transporting locals and tourists back to the time of Portugal’s first kings. The event will be carefully prepared to ensure the historical accuracy of the events surrounding the founding of the country.
One of the great novelties this year is the expansion of the Afonsina Fair to the Zona de Couros, recently classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
